Con Chim (Bird Islet) is an outstanding community tourism destination in Tra Vinh where people have both a source of extra income and protect the living environment. Spread over a natural area of 60 hectares, located between Co Chien river branches, 25km from the city center of Tra Vinh. Depending on the level of salinity, people cultivate either rice (rainy season, fresh water) or shrimp (dry season, salt water). Rice is fertilized with organic fertilizers, and no abuse of plant protection chemicals is used. Shrimp are raised in the traditional style, although the yield is low, it is guaranteed to be “clean shrimp”.
