Team building in Hanoi – The Amazing Race at Duong Lam Ancient Village

In recent years, cultural team building programs have become a growing trend, not only bringing joy but also fostering deeper connections among employees through authentic local experiences. Within the setting of an ancient village, each game transcends being a mere challenge – it becomes a bridge to treasured memories of the past, enabling participants to better appreciate their cultural roots while strengthening bonds with teammates.

Among destinations rich in character, Duong Lam Ancient Village stands out as a living museum of the Red River Delta’s countryside. Beyond its centuries-old architecture, Duong Lam is imbued with heroic historical tales, rustic culinary delights, and a tranquil way of life that has endured through generations. This unique atmosphere provides an ideal foundation for hosting a team building program that is both refreshing and deeply meaningful.

Duong Lam Ancient Village

Located about 50 km from downtown Hanoi, Duong Lam Ancient Village (under Son Tay Ward in the new administrative division from July 2025) is regarded as a living heritage of the Red River Delta countryside. The village preserves over 900 laterite houses, timeworn tiled roofs, along with ancient communal houses, pagodas, wells, and centuries-old banyan trees. Together, they create a tranquil atmosphere that feels like a step back in time, guiding visitors into the memory of a bygone era.

Duong Lam is also renowned as the “land of two kings,” the birthplace of Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen – two national heroes who led glorious victories against foreign invaders. Beyond its historical significance, the village offers a rich cultural tapestry through traditional crafts and rustic cuisine. From the savory taste of Duong Lam’s fermented soybean paste, the nutty sweetness of peanut candy and che lam, to the simplicity of banh gai (black sticky rice cake) – every flavor embodies the essence of the homeland, reflecting a way of life that is simple yet deeply rooted in tradition.

It is this harmony of heritage landscapes, historical imprints, and cultural experiences that makes Duong Lam an ideal destination for culture-infused team building programs. Here, participants not only strengthen skills and team spirit but also embark on a journey of pride in national traditions, helping to spread enduring values within the community.
